The Basic Rules
Under the City of San Angelo's standard conservation level, in-ground sprinklers can run twice every seven days from April through October (once a week in the cooler months), never more than one inch per week, and never between noon and 6pm when evaporation is worst. At higher drought levels those days get cut back further.
- Twice per 7 days (Apr–Oct), once per 7 days (Nov–Mar)
- No more than 1 inch of water per week
- No spray watering noon–6pm
- Restrictions tighten at Drought Levels 1, 2, and 3
Drip and Hand Watering Are Treated Differently
This is the part people miss: drip irrigation is allowed any day and any time, as long as you stay under one inch a week. Hand watering is likewise allowed outside the cutoff hours. So if you want flexibility for your beds and foundation plantings, drip is the way to get it without breaking the rules.
Let the Controller Handle It
